Parallel wiring - wiring of two lamp in parallel

In Parallel wiring circuits, each load is connected across the supply terminals.
As the load terminals are connected across a common potential, the voltage across the loads will be same, but the current through each load varies with its load resistance.

In each load the current flows through an individual path, so the loads can be controlled individually, unlike from series wiring. In parallel connection, open loads or disconnection of loads will not interrupt the working of remaining components in the circuit. With an ideal current source, loads in a parallel connection work independently even the circuit have any number of loads or different power rating of loads.

Current division in a parallel circuit

The total current through the source line will be divided through the loads from the common junction. The algebraic sum of individual load current will be equal to the total current delivered by the source.
